Cheap Hearing Aids Are Here to Help Everyone

I often tend to take this space to speak about the great things hearing aids can do and how they really benefit those who need them. With good reason - the advancements in hearing aid technology are numerous and exciting, constantly helping us to improve our hearing and to improve our lives and the lives of those we love and care for. We've also talked a good bit about how those advancements have released a lot of the stigma attached with wearing hearing aids - they're less visible, less bulky and more effective than ever. Not only that, but now it is slowly getting cheaper so that way more people can afford to buy them without having to pay so much money out of their pockets; everyone should be able to afford the technology if they need the help.

We've talked about all the good reasons for wearing hearing aids and they are all excellent reasons for that matter: better social interaction, better safety, just a better quality of life in general. Without the assistance however, life can be very difficult and it can feel very lonely; social interaction will go down and it may very well cause depression, and no one ever wants to suffer from such a horrible thing as depression. Fortunately now, we have the technology to help us but at what cost is all of this progress? The cost tends to be a fairly steep one, especially for those of more modest means. In large part due to the prevalence of hearing loss, hearing aids are not covered by insurance, leaving many forced to fork out the money for them out of their pockets. Luckily, there's a less-expensive solution for those who understand the importance of a good hearing aid while maintaining a good price.

Songbird disposable hearing aids are available for those who don't need hearing aids all the time - or the associate cost of purchasing them. They're available at a variety of drugstores and have a battery life of 400 hours. That could be as much as 6 months of use, depending on usage patterns. With hearing aid costs soaring into the thousands of dollars range, this cheap hearing aid - available in some places for less than $100 - is a welcome addition for those in need of good hearing and a great deal. Not only that, but when it is out of power, there is no need to go and get the battery changed, all you have to do is buy another one, turn it on and enjoy the wonderful world of hearing. It's cheap affordable and it will help improve your life and keep you from missing out on life.

As always, you should ask an audiologist before deciding on a hearing aid. Such great technology should be available to everyone who needs a cheap hearing aid so that way they can still live a good life with the ability to hear well everything around them. It truly would be a tragedy to miss out on life because of the ability to hear well was lost for any reason. Sometimes we all need assistance in these times. The economy is not doing well and it is terrible that those with hearing loss suffer than most other people who need help improving their senses. At least one good thing that can be said is that there are now more and more health insurance companies that will cover your trip to see the ENT and an audiologist. Hopefully, as time continues to progress along with technology, people will be able to afford better hearing assistance technology which will help them lead better lives; perhaps someday within the next ten to twenty years we will hopefully find ways to cure hearing loss with certain medical procedures or some sort of medicine that will be more widely available to anyone who wishes to have better hearing.

The Power Of Consistent Guitar Practice.

Most of us have heard of the power of being consistent in our guitar practice. You know what I mean. Practicing something EVERY day until mastered. But do you do this? I know that in the past, I definitely didn't...

When I first started playing I was a maniac! I had no real structure to my practice. I just put in the hours and hoped that I got better. And I did! But there was a problem. I practiced something different almost every day. My practice "schedule" changed from one day to the next. This created two major negative side effects...

1. Sore hands. For example, I would often go so berserk on alternate picking exercises that my picking wrist would get incredibly sore. It would be so sore that I couldn't practice alternate picking the next day. So what did I do? I then went crazy with legato exercises. So much so that I wouldn't be able to practice legato the next day. So I went back to my trusty alternate picking. Mmmm...there's a pattern emerging here. :-)

2. Slower Progress. Now, don't get me wrong. I progressed faster than any of my friends. But I definitely don't think I progressed at my fastest possible rate. If I had practiced less on an exercise, but did it EVERY day I think my progress would have been much faster.

I guess the moral of the story is to temper your enthusiasm with intelligence. Let's look at how to start to be more consistent with your practice...

***Step One***

Decide on something that you would like to master. Make it something short like a lick, scale or perhaps a few bars of a song.

***Step Two***

Decide on a speed goal for the thing that you have chosen. This will be your target tempo. Make it challenging. Something that will make you a significantly better player once you have achieved it. Of course, you need to keep in mind your current playing level. If you are a beginner and you set a speed goal of sixteenth notes at 240bpm, you are definitely setting yourself up for a failure!

***Step Three***

Decide on how much time you'll invest practicing the thing that you have chosen. I would recommend setting a goal of 10-15 minutes a day. A small amount done daily will give you better results than hours done irregularly.

***Step Four***

Make a commitment to practice what you have chosen on a daily basis. The key is to practice it every single day until your speed goal has been reached. No excuses,no crying, no moaning, no exceptions.

***Step Five***

Get to work! This is the step that requires discipline. It could take weeks or months to achieve your speed goal! Just keep in mind that anyone can write down a goal, but unfortunately VERY few people will follow it though to completion. That's probably why there are so many more guitar OWNERS than guitar PLAYERS ;-)

I invite you to try this approach to guitar practice. I've found that it really helps me, and I'm sure you'll benefit from it as well!

How To Read Guitar Music

It is never too late or too early to learn how to read guitar music. Many guitarist start off by teaching themselves guitar music after studying a piece of music on the radio or on a CD. This is a great starting point and will allow you to understand different notes and cords.

Basic Elements

On a guitar, the tab staff has 6 horizontal lines. Each one of these horizontal lines represents a string on the instrument. The line on the bottom of the staff is the lowest “E” string on the guitar. The next line up from the bottom line represents the “A” string and so on. These are the basic elements when you learn how to read guitar music.

Chords

When your guitar tab displays numbers stacked vertically in a series, this is an indication to play these notes at the same time. When the guitar tab displays numbers in a series gradually on an incline, this is indicating these notes should be played one at a time. These are the first things you should know when you learn how to read guitar music.

Rhythmic notation

Rhythmic notation is how the songs rhythm should be heard when played. When you first learn how to read guitar music you should try songs you can access on a CD or radio so you can hear the rhythm before you commence learning the chords. Hearing the rhythm will make learning much easier.

A Major chord

An A major chord is the first chord you will learn to play and the first chord you will see when you learn how to read guitar music. An A major chord contains only 3 different notes. No more then 3 notes are used in an A major chord and these can generally be repeated more then once.

Discipline

The key when you learn how to read guitar music is discipline. Learning good techniques and having an excellent teacher will ensure you get the most out of your lessons. Once you have learned the basics of guitar music, you will find it easier to progress onto advanced guitar music.

Writing guitar music

When you learn how to read guitar music it is important to watch how the music is written. Take notice of the use of the chords in different sections of the music and take note of how easy the chords flow. When you become more advanced and start to write your own guitar music, these techniques will help you.

Barbie Games

When we let our little girls play with dolls, we are allowing them to exercise their imagination and creativity. It's also how they mimic the things that they see going on around them. One of the innovations that lets girls even become more creative are Barbie games. They come in a variety of forms for example, video games, online computer games, story book games and even vinyl sticky Barbie games. Barbie is of course the main character.

Online, you can dress the Barbie doll. In one version, she is in a store trying to make a decision on what to get. There are long and short dresses, and you can also change her hair color and hairstyle.

The fashion conscious aren't left out. There are tons of accessories like shoes, handbags, jewelry, and hosiery and so on. In another game, you find Barbie surrounded by loads of glamorous dresses and you get to pick what you like and dress her in it. You can also change her lip color and make up. It's actually a lot of fun.

There are also Barbie games where you go on adventures with Barbie. These are based on some of the Barbie movies and it doesn't matter if you haven't seen the movie. It's still fun and easy to play. Your little girl is promised a lot of fun with these games, and as a parent one should know that the content is suitable as they are aimed for young girls. The games are also very easy to navigate though.

Greg Reyes as a Professional and Simple Person

My name is Craig and I am the President of jetForward Aviation, an aviation acquisition firm in San Jose, CA. I live in south San Jose with my wife of 22 years and our three children. I have known Greg Reyes since joining the Brocade Communications sales organization just over seven years ago. I am writing today in the hopes that my personal remarks might somehow be considered during Greg’s sentencing.

In the time that I have known Greg, I have always been impressed by his dedication and character, both as a professional and as a person. During my time at Brocade, it was Greg who provided the executive guidance and support so important to a growing young company. He was very close to our team in particular, providing Personal counsel based on a deep level of experience in the world of hi-tech sales. Though continually requested to speak at industry events and seminars, he was an extremely approachable man to all of us - never too busy for a one-on-one conversation or to offer professional coaching when asked. I remember numerous conversations with Greg – from recent sales activities to the status of personal friends of mine serving with our troops in the Gulf War. I recall how everyone in the company reacted to his leadership and compassion immediately following 9/11 – essentially putting a halt to all business until we had accounted for every employee and their family.

While his professional demeanor always impressed me, it has been his role as a family man that has stuck with me over time. Whether hosting his children during “bring your kid to work day” or support for his wife’s personal achievements, it was Clear he provided a very steady hand as father and husband. In witnessing how Greg carried himself I learned that executive leadership and family dedication are not mutually exclusive - in fact success in both comes from an extreme level of focus and discipline.

Not surprisingly, I have witnessed the past few months with a sense of astonishment and disbelief. I cannot begin to imagine the effect this has had on Greg’s family. The thought of this husband and father being sent to federal prison is beyond my comprehension. For an individual with so much to offer, who could provide so much in a society that is wanting in so many places, the idea of locking him up in a jail cell seems to only compound this tragic episode.

I continue to hope (and pray) that the Court will find a positive in all of this, Somehow allowing Greg to continue to provide his family the love and support they need while satisfying the requirements of the judicial process.

Colocation Facility Cooling System Considerations

Most companies know to find a colocation facility that has good Internet service and Internet provider and carrier options. However, cooling systems are often overlooked. Most servers now are made to operate at normal office conditions, which mean that two environmental factors should be met:
  • The temperature should stay between 72° F and 76° F
  • The humidity should be between 45% and 60%, with 45% ideal
  • Cooling units must be on continuously, so servers will not overheat (this precludes standard HVAC units).

If the cooling system goes down, it can cause the equipment to overheat, causing the network to go down and even damaging equipment. Colocation facility cooling systems include three areas: the facility layout, chillers, and computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units.

Facility Layout
Servers generate heat as they run. This is generally blown out the back of the server by fans; cool air is taken in through vents at the front. Server racks and rows should be laid out to manage hot air coming from the servers and conditioned air going to their intakes by designating “hot rows,” which face the server fans, and “cold rows,” which face the intakes. Designated hot and cold rows keep air circulating in the best directions to keep servers from overheating.

Facility Design
There are two kinds of building design for colocation facilities: raised floor and solid floor. Raised floor was the preferred structure when servers were towers because the mesh flooring allowed air conditioned air to blow from the bottom directly across their intakes. However, since servers are stacked in racks, cold air must reach the tops of the racks to cool machines. Solid floor facilities are a better option. The facility should take into account the following:

  • Solid floor designs must have mesh front and rear doors for th server cabinets to allow hot air to escape.
  • For raised floor designs, cold air must have enough air pressure to force air to the top of the server cabinets. Ideally, special duct work will be in place to force the airflow upward.
  • For raised floors, server cabinets should not have vents in the doors that would let cool air escape.

Chiller Systems
Chillers pipe water or water/glycol coolants through the CRAC units. Chiller systems include pumps, pipes, and the chillers themselves. The following points should be considered to make sure that the system is adequate to cool the facility:

  • Sufficient capacity
  • Backup units for the pumps and chillers which switch over automatically
  • Regular maintenance

CRAC Units
CRAC units are massive, dedicated air conditioners which manage temperature and humidity. They have many parts and are complicated – meaning failures can be common. The CRAC units should be well maintained, but the most important thing is redundancy. Redundancy is determined by the overall capacity of the CRAC units; there should be enough units that even with a failure, the facility will still be adequately cooled. As with chillers, capacity for CRAC units is determined by tons per square foot.

Verify Capacity
Capacity is determined by the ratio of tons per square foot. To determine whether a system has sufficient capacity, divide the total tonnage of the units by the square footage of the building. If there are four 30-ton CRAC units in a 4,000 square foot facility, then the CRAC capacity is .030 tons per square foot (120 tons / 4,000 square feet). The ideal ratio of tons to square feet for the CRAC system is .030 ton/square foot or higher; the ratio should not be below .025 tons/square foot. This same formula is used for chiller systems, with the same ideal ratios.

It is important to look for a colocation facility that has Internet provider options and backup power systems. Equally important is a facility with the right design, chillers, and CRAC units to cool the server room. Keeping equipment from overheating will keep networks up and makes equipment last longer. Like Internet connections, network uptime, and power backups, cooling systems signify a quality colocation facility.

Cheers to Better Hearing

If knowledge is power, then after you have finished this article, you will be feeling like Mighty Man when this subject is brought up in casual conversation.

Heed this letter in an enclosure is that red amethyst may be good for your ears.

For many existence doctors and scientists have been alarm us that undue alcohol consumption can head to a swing of diseases. In latest existence, however, new sign came to light insinuating that moderate bearing is good for what ales you. It can thwart or sluggish down many age-bonded ailments with hearing harm, the third most reliable returning form experienced by elder Americans, and touching about one-third of people over 65, and half of those in their 80s.

At slightest two studies, one in Sydney Australia, and the other at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, insinuate that an antioxidant reliable found in red amethyst can head to better hearing.

Keep reading further to learn how this topic can benefit you, as the rest of this article will supply you will the needed information.

Of course, red amethysts beneficial properties are not right new. Primeval Greeks worn it to heal fevers and consider wounds. In the brain Ages, amethyst was consumed liberally and abundantly in order to slay microbes conceded by sullied water and other unsanitary forms.

Subsequent improvements in shape fear, however, as well as the discovery of antibiotics and the development of other effectual drugs, eliminated the requisite to rely on alcohol as a heal-all. But in the last decade researchers unearthed impending shape profit red amethyst exerts on brain disease, melanoma, diabetes, stroke, Alzheimer's, and other illnesses.

What is it about red amethyst that's so good for us?

Hers to Ears

A 2002 examine conducted at Macquarie University in Sydney on the prevalence, endanger realtors and impacts of hearing impairment on people over the age of 55 showed that reliable alcohol consumption was associated with a significantly decreased likelihood of moderate or bigger levels of hearing harm.

while the bond between alcohol (and specifically red amethyst) and hearing is not sunny, I guess that all the realities reflects the enhancement in micro-circulation in the cochlea as a outcome of the improvement in the cardiac practice due to moderate alcohol bearing, explains professor Phillip Newell of Macquarie's idiom, heeding and poetry study Centre, who conducted the examine.

And last year a band of researchers at the University of Michigan found that antioxidants in red amethyst can shelter the delicate tresses inside the interior ear, therefore plateful to relegate age-bonded deafness and even hearing harm acorn by loud racket. However, Johan Schacht, professor of biological chemistry in otolaryngology and manager of the U-Ms Kruse heeding study Institute, who led examine, cautions against uncorking that enclosure of amethyst too fast. We have documented that certain antioxidants can shelter the tresses cells in experimental animals from some forms of dent, for example by racket or by drugs such as gentamici, he says. The only connection to red amethyst is the reality that it does enclose antioxidants, most prominently reservation. In one examine a concentrated form was given to animals and that sheltered them fairly against racket dent.

The Miracle Ingredient

What is reservation and how can it gain the hearing? An artless compound found in large concentrations in red amethyst as different to fair or roes, which are not as stuffed in reservation - it is considered to be a good antioxidant, an element that counteracts the negative things of oxygen in tissues.

Scientists trust that the delicate tresses of the interior ear can be dented by the boundless radicals formed by routine cellular processes, in retort to loud racket, or exposure to antibiotics. Antioxidants such as reservation neutralize these boundless radicals, and, consequently, shelter against some of this dent.

That is good gossip for millions of people who undergo from hearing harm. But before you beer to your shape, keep in brain that alcohol consumption is a bend-edged sword; it can each gain you or make more troubles than it heals.

Tranquil Does It

Here is a sobering chunk of opinion: the key to all these studies is moderation.

As clear by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of shape and being navy, moderate bearing is no more than one beer a day for most women and no more than two beers a day for most men. A pennant beer of amethyst is usually considered to be five scraps, enclosing approximately half a scrap of alcohol.

Furthermore, some people should not beer at all. Pregnant or attention women, people with alcohol abuse troubles, those charming certain types of medications or undergoing from diseases that expect abstinence, should escape alcohol consumption.

That does not mean you have to forego the shameful profit of reservation because many non-alcoholic alternatives are stuffed in this antioxidant as well. Red grapes consumed with their skins, berries, peanuts, green tea, and even chocolate, are good sources.

If, however, there is no sound incentive why you should abstain from moderate bearing, go forward and improve a flute to good hearing. Red amethyst is nutritious and good for your ears and that's not just gossip.

What you have learned while reading this informative article is knowledge that you can keep with you for a lifetime.

Speaking Well In Public Is By No Means Accidental

You might possibly know how jokes can complement your speech. But jokes can also cause your speech to be disastrous. Jokes are both a boon and bane to a speech.

If you are very much in comfort with it, use humor. Just check it first if it fits, serving as a breaker between sections or emphasizing a certain point. A funny and great line, or a comment that is irreverent can help liven up the presentation that you have and will help people to remember the things you have said. Of course any joke must be related to the topic that you have in some way. If you are not sure about something, you could also use a humorous photo or cartoon (with the permission of the photographer or illustrator, of course) in your slides.

Aside from making jokes or humor in your speech, you could improve your public speaking with these other tips.

- You should be able to grab your listeners’ attention even right at the start. That is why it is important that you start correct – confident posture, eloquent speaking style, controlled voice tonality and impact, and a nice, well-thought speech from you.

- The information in your message should be organized clearly and logically, making it easy for your listeners to follow what you are trying to say. Keep things easy and simple. Divide the information into smaller blocks and work from there. Highlight the points that you want your audience to remember.

- Your most crucial point should be the conclusion, bringing the speech to a close. The conclusion sets the tone of the speech, and lets the listeners think about and ponder on the things you have just said. Literary devices, such as quotes, stories, rhetorical questions, or surprising facts, can be used for concluding a speech, although of course, these devices should relate well to the topic of your speech.

- Deliver the conclusion that you have clearly and slowly. Keep eye contact with your listeners as you speak. Smile at them, thanking them for the time that they have given you.

- You should remember all these tips and in due time, you would be surprised to see how these techniques have helped you in your future speaking presentations. Your listeners will eventually understand the information you have given them and respect you for your ability in delivering that information.

Making Money While Travelling - Helpful Tips For Backpackers to Stay on Budget

If your travelling on a budget, lets say backpacking around the world, the idea would have crossed your mind... I wonder if I can make a little money while I'm travelling, so I can travel for longer? With the internet in every corner of the world now it's becoming easier and easier... Depending on how much work you want or how deeply you want to integrate into a foreign country there plenty of options. A great place to start is in Travel writing. It's free to do and while your backpacking around you will most definitely form your own observations and opinions, why not share them with other travellers and make a little money along the way. If this idea is music to your ears then here's a few options I've found:

Writing for Travel Websites: This can an easy way to make a little cash, sharpen your writing skills and get deeper into the countries you travel through. Sites like Matador and Boots n All will pay somewhere between $25 -$50 for articles, that's not a lot but look at it this way - if your already in a country then why not think of an angle and write a story about it, what's to loose? Plus it will almost certainly get you off of the tourist trail and into the heart of that place.

Keep a Travel Blog or Website: This way is a little more involved than the last but it can pay off if your prepared for a little hard work. Starting your own Blog couldn't be easier and there is a wealth of great resources available on the internet that can help. This approach require more Admin and you will need to be a writer, a marketer, deal with advertising and website design... But I'll say it again, the rewards can be big. I know Travel Bloggers that earn in excess of $2000 a month doing just this and I keep my own Blog about Backpacking around the world on a budget

Learn to teach English: Again a wealth of resources are available about this but your best bet is to get accredited with someone like TEFL - the best placements often go to TEFL certificated people. This is more of a long term option but it will give you the chance to really get under the skin of a community and as time goes by you'll only get better at it. It would be a great way to pay for yourself while you backpack around the world and make a difference to the people you meet.

Use Your Own Skills: this is something many people often overlook, they leave home not expecting their current set of skills to apply... Not true! Take hairdressing for example, many western travellers won't want to tackle the language barrier with a local hair stylist and instead let it hang low... But there is plenty of money to be made at busy guest houses a keen backpacker on a budget...

This is my no means comprehensive but it's a starting block that needs to be considered by any backpacker or traveler on a budget. Team these ides with saving money like using CouchSurfing.com and Skype and you will see your budget stretch much further than you ever expected.

Ever wondered what it's like to sell it all and go travel the world? - That's just what we did. Aaron and Georgie have been travelling the world since April 2008. We sold our house, our car and even our cat so we could go forth and backpack around the world on a budget. Experience Hypnosis Without Going To A Hypnotherapist

If you would like to get an amazing experience of hypnosis without going to a hypnotherapist to get it, you are now able to download our hypnotherapy audios, which have been written and are presented by a qualified hypnotherapist, with relaxing music playing in the background. The hypnosis audios are recordings of the hypnosis scripts with which they appear on the People Building website. Our free hypnosis audio is made up of a hypnotic induction scripts called “Body relaxation induction” and a deepener called “relaxing Inner self for Healing” It is just over half an hour long and forms the basis for all of our other hypnosis downloads which can be purchased from the site. In all of our other Hypnosis audio downloads, those two particular scripts are used as the induction and deepener, and are then followed by the substance of whatever particular area of improvement you need to focus on. Therefore, by downloading our free Hypnosis audio, you will be training your mind on how to go into trance, so that when you are ready to deal with some of the bigger issues you would like to improve, your system will then be used to hearing that same hypnotic music, voice and words and know that it is now time to go into a trance.

The free hypnosis download can be downloaded and listened to from your computer, or from itunes and downloaded onto your ipod. Simply look up People Building from your itunes store and select the hypnosis podcast.

Of course, by using a hypnosis download, you may not be able to solve all of the issues you are hoping to, because the information is generic and has not been created especially for you and your problems. That is why you can request an audio to be created to meet your specific needs. If you think that there is a audio on the site which may be appropriate, but you are unsure, you could buy the hypnosis script first to read the content of it.

For some problems, there are additional resources available. For example, for those wishing to stop smoking, we have a quit smoking e-book, called “freedom from smoking the NLP way.” This ebook contains hints, tips and activities to help you make the transition from a smoker to a non smoker and offers a money back guarantee. The cost of the book is roughly equivalent to the cost of 3 packets of cigarettes so just think about how much you could save in the long run.

On the subject of savings, if it’s our hypnosis scripts that you are interested in, in particular, you will be pleased to know that we offer meaty discounts to those who want to purchase lots of hypnosis scripts, rather than buying them individually. There are, at last count over 60 hypnosis scripts on our website. The cost of buying them all would be around $180.00 (roughly £90.00) This is why we offer saving of up to $60.00 (roughly £30.00) for buying collections of our hypnotherapy scripts.

What is Hypnosis?

Before anyone experiences hypnosis and starts using it to make wonderful, beneficial changes in their life, this article is designed to perhaps to answer a few questions you may have and also to dispel a few myths and misconceptions about hypnosis.

You know, I still meet people that believe that experiencing hypnosis is like being unconscious. I always reply, “What would be the point of that? Spending money and time to be unconscious in someone else’s company?? If I wanted you to be unconscious we would simply bash you over the head!” So it is important that you also know that hypnosis is not about being unconscious and that you have the correct expectations about the hypnotic experience that you are going to have, should you choose to invest in one of our products or experience hypnosis for yourself with a hypnotist.

In order to understand hypnosis, it is important to understand and differentiate between our minds. By that I am referring to our conscious mind, where we are now and just below that level of awareness is our unconscious mind (also known as the subconscious mind, for the purpose of easy understanding they are the same thing).

The conscious mind is where we usually spend most of our waking time, you know that internal dialogue we have that thinks “hmmm, what shoes shall I wear today” that is your conscious mind. Your conscious mind basically does four things;

Firstly, your conscious mind analyses. What is that? Well that is the part of us that looks at problems, analyses them and tries to create solutions to those problems. It is that part of us that makes decisions all day every day “shall I open the door?”, “Shall I have something to eat”, even though they are automatic behaviours, we make a conscious decision about whether or not to do these things.

The second part of our conscious mind is our rationale, the part of us that, especially in western cultures, always has to know “Why” things happen and “Why” we behave in particular ways. This can cause us so many problems as we give any problems more and more credence and power. More conventional and traditional methods of counselling or psychotherapy are often very much concerned with looking at causes of our problems and it is my opinion that all this does is teaches us “why” they happen as opposed to giving us the skills required to changing unwanted habits and behaviours. The more we think about “why” we do things the more we seem to embed the unwanted behaviour into our psyches!

The third part of our conscious mind is will power, that teeth-gritted determination that so many of us are proud to demonstrate. How many times have we used our will power alone to make changes and found that our will power weakens and that change is temporary or non-existent.

The final part of our conscious mind is your short-term memory. By that I am referring to the things that you need to remember to function on a day-to-day basis, so that when your phone rings you know to answer it rather than stare at it wondering it is, or ensuring that you cross the road without being run over.

That is the conscious part of your mind, it is logical, rational and analytical, a bit like Mr Spock from the Start Trek series and as much as it pains me to say it, our conscious mind is frequently wrong about things.

Your conscious mind is wherever you happen to be pointing it at any given time. I am sure you have been in a busy, noisy environment, such as a restaurant or a bar and have been engaged in a conversation with another individual, and all the sounds going on around you just seem to blend into the background. Then someone else ten metres away can punctuate their sentence with your name and you pick it out as if it was being spoken to you. This illustrates that unconsciously, you are aware of many, many pieces of information every second of your life, sounds, colours, thoughts etc, yet your conscious mind allows you to focus upon what is pertinent or relevant to you at that moment.

If you take that conscious awareness and point it inside of yourself instead of outside into the world, you begin to become aware of your inner self, your unconscious self, which is the part of you that we work with in hypnosis.

Your unconscious mind is tremendously powerful and automates as much behaviour as it possibly can so that we do not have to think about it. For example, there was a time in your life when you had to be shown how to tie your shoelaces, and you concentrated on doing this. I suspect that by this stage in your life you know how tie your shoelaces very well and you don’t even think about doing it, you just do it. I have a lonely Auntie who as a boy, my mother would ask me to phone on a weekly basis as she thought this would make her happy and I vividly remember hearing her lighting up a cigarette and heavily exhaling the smoke while on the phone, she didn’t even think about what she was doing, she just associated smoking with being on the phone.

We are amazing learning machines and we learn behaviours and habits and then our unconscious mind automates them and does them on auto pilot so that we do not have to think about doing them.

Your unconscious mind has within it all your long-term memory. Just about every blade of grass that you have seen in your entire lifetime is stored away in your long-term memory that serves as an amazing storage centre. These memories affect us in varying ways, some more than others. Sometimes our ability to remember them is not as fluid as we need, as it is often not necessary to have all our memory in the forefront of our minds. For example, right now you are unlikely to be thinking about everything that happened to you on your last birthday, however, me just mentioning it, you can dig into your unconscious, long-term memory and remember.

Another example is if you have ever seen a live stand up comedy show. You watch the comedian and laugh (or not as the case may be!) heartily as you listen to lots and lots of jokes. Then when you leave the venue, you can remember none of them, or one or two at best! Then, a week later, a friend that you were with can say to you “do you remember such and such a joke from last weeks comedian” and you think “oh yeeeaaah!” as you bring that information out from your long-term memory. You know that you know the joke, it was just not at the forefront of your conscious mind, it was tucked away in the deeper unconscious.

Your unconscious mind knows more about you than you consciously that you know. Sound confusing? Well, just think, you are currently breathing, your heart is beating (I do hope!) you are digesting, your body is regulating its body temperature, it is doing a range of wonderful things without you having to consciously think about it. You are not sat around thinking “I really must remember to breathe”. We are not machines, there is an intelligence within us that knows how to do these things, and it is that intelligence that we tap into with hypnosis.

Your unconscious mind is where you get your gut feelings, your instincts and intuition that communicates with you sporadically from time to time. Like when sometimes, someone can be saying all the right words to you, but you get a different feeling about them.

Your unconscious mind is a bit like a computer. Throughout your entire lifetime it has been programmed with all your experiences, relationships, interpretations of the world, influences and all this has culminated in your computer functioning with that programming. Hypnosis is simply a way of accessing that computer and updating that programming so that it becomes instinctive and intuitive for you to make the changes that please you.

Your unconscious mind is the seat of your emotions and where your behaviours exist and it is the part of you that we work with in hypnosis. Hypnosis is a way of us stepping over your conscious mind and accessing the unconscious mind to make powerful and profound changes.

Now, I am sure that you have experienced natural trance states many times before, in fact I know it. For example, when you have been driving in a car and thought to yourself “ooh, how did I get here?” or when you have been reading a book and you’ve turned the page and thought “I have no idea what I have just read, I am going to have to read it all again”. I can remember being at school watching my history teacher teach me, yet my mind was a million miles away wishing I was doing something else. All common experiences, daydream like states that we all experience, many times a day. The only difference between these naturally occurring states and those that we use in therapeutic hypnosis, is that with the hypnosis, you intend to enter the state, you are in control of it and it is just like a slightly amplified, deeper version of the state. That is it. Sometimes it is simply like sitting in a chair with your eyes closed, not the magical mystical or unusual experience that some people are led to believe it is.

It is important here to know that you cannot be made to do anything that you don’t want to do. Very important. I had a guy that a doctor referred to me, came to see me and said to me “my doctor told me come and see you as I have emphysema and am going to die of it unless I stop smoking”. I said to him, well I presume you want to stop, he said “oh, no, I love smoking, it is one of few remaining pleasures.” I had to send him away as I cannot make him do something that he does not want to. Can you imagine if I could do that!! Wow. I could go and see my bank manager and make him give me million pounds without returning it! You never read about “Baddy hypnotists” making people rob banks or anything else absurd, because it cannot be done.

People usually then say to me “ok Adam, I hear and understand what you are saying and it all makes sense”. However, I have seen stage hypnosis and seen people dancing like chickens, are you telling me that they want to do that?” I am saying that these people are not being made to do things that they don’t want to do.

When someone buys tickets to a stage hypnosis show, they are being permissive to the notion that they are going to see hypnosis for entertainment; they expect certain things to happen. Secondly, when the stage hypnotist asks the audience “who wants to come on stage” the people that agree to do so or put their hands up are saying “yes, I want to be hypnotised”, they are not being made to do anything they don’t want to do. The stage hypnotist ensures that the individuals on the show are receptive and follow a large number of compliance exercises and it begins to create the illusion that these people are doing things that they don’t want to do, when they are not. The hypnosis can step over the inhibitions of the conscious mind, so that the individuals behave with more openness, they just cannot be made to do things they don’t want to do.

Anyone can be hypnotised. I work with insomniacs, heroin addicts, schizophrenics, people experiencing chemotherapy, these are all people that are often convinced that they cannot relax or cannot be hypnotised, and as long as they want to, they all can and they all do.

All that is required is that you have an open mind, that you expect it to work and have progressive, motivated thoughts about the processes, follow the sessions and allow them to help you help yourself to make the changes you want and deserve.

Finally, at the beginning of the recorded hypnosis sessions and/or individual NLP or hypnosis sessions with me (I cannot speak for other therapists, we all do things differently) individually, you may be asked to do a number of different things with your mind and you can be forgiven for thinking, “well, he asked me to do this, and now something else, and now another thing, what exactly am I supposed to be listening to?” The simple answer is that you listen and follow as much or as little as you want to, remember that is your conscious mind thinking those thoughts and that is not the part of you that we are working with and making the change with. I am sure that there will also be times when you’ll be thinking “hmmm… am I in hypnosis, what am I supposed to be thinking or feeling.” Again that is your conscious mind thinking that thought and does not matter what it is thinking. It can be attempting to follow everything that I am saying or just wandering off and thinking about whatever you like, just trust that your unconscious mind is absorbing all that you want it to.

There will be times in the sessions when you may be asked to imagine things. Imagining things does not have to mean visualising. If I ask you to think of a favourite place, you can imagine what it would be like, you don’t have to be seeing a picture perfect cinema version of it in your mind. You can imagine, sense, think, or just know it without seeing it or picturing it in every detail. If I asked you to imagine the sound your feet make when you walk across gravel, you know the sound I am talking about and you can imagine it, but you are not necessarily hearing it in your ears, you can imagine it. That is all you'll need.

So, hypnosis is not like being unconscious, it is almost like having heightened awareness, it requires you to want the change, have an open, positive mind, as best as you can, and allow whatever happens to happen, without trying to grasp at what you think should happen, just letting it happen.

I wish you all the very best with whichever hypnosis product, or with any consultative sessions you are considering having with any qualified therapist or any training you plan to attend and I just know that having come this far, you really can do it, and make the changes that you want to make with hypnosis.

How To Get The Most From Online Psychic Readings

Getting online psychic readings can open a person up to a world of frauds and those looking to only get money. It can be hard for a person to determine who is real and who is not. It helps to be armed with some important information before a person ever starts looking for a psychic reader.

There are generally two different types of psychic readers online. There are those who work for a company and those who have a private practice. Whether a person works for a company or for themselves is not an indication of if they are real or not. Sometimes a whole company can be a fake and sometimes individuals can be a fake. It goes either way. However, it helps to know if they are with a company or not. Sometimes companies offer a better chance of getting a refund then an individual. Sometimes individuals are more flexible. There are pros and cons to each.

When looking at companies it is important to see what type of testing procedures they have in their hiring process. If the company does not test their readers before hiring them then it is best to stir clear of them. Additionally, it helps to see what their refund policy is and if they keep records of the readings. Many online psychic readings are done in chat rooms or through email. If the reading is on record that can help when trying to get a refund.

With individuals it is smart to ask for references. They should be able to provide at least two happy clients for you to contact. Also check about what will happen if you are not satisfied.

As mentioned, most online psychic readings are done through chat rooms or email. In a chat room situation the client gets to talk with the reader as the reading is happening. It is like being face to face with the reader in some aspects. Chat room readings are nice because of the interaction. The client can ask questions and get clarification, if needed. Email readings can also be nice. Usually the reader will allow for follow up question, if needed, so the client can get clarification. Email readings are great for complex situations because the reader has time to work on the reading and isn’t pressured into giving immediate answers.

There are endless options in online psychic readings. There are many companies who have psychic readers online 24 hours a day. If a person wants an online psychic reading they will have no trouble finding a place to get one. However, as mentioned it is also easy to get scammed. Some of the signs of a scam include, readers who give vague answers to questions, no refund policy, no management contact information, a business that is fairly new with no references and pricing that is higher than the average.

Online psychic readings are usually much cheaper than phone readings. Online readings are usually booked according to a set amount of time. For email readings the readings are priced according to the question type or the length of the reading. In general, a person can expect to pay between $60 and $100 for a half hour online chat room readings and from $20 and up for an email reading.

Online psychic readings give a person the freedom to get a psychic reading whenever they want. They can also research the reader better than they can with a phone reading. Many times a person will find that online psychic readings offer a much better quality, too, than phone readings. For anyone looking to get a psychic reading, online readings are a great choice.

Hi Tech Greenhouses?

You probably don’t want to be constantly looking after your greenhouse yourself – opening the windows when it gets too hot, going round every few days and all the rest. It’s much easier to get automatic systems to do these chores for you.

To water your plants, you should install irrigation systems. These are basically small pipes that run underground and slowly release water into the soil – greenhouse models are very similar to the ones used on commercial farms, only smaller. These irrigation systems allow you to quite simply and easily set how much water your plants are getting with a tap, instead of you having to go and water them all by hand. Many plants will also respond better to being watered at the roots than they do to being watered on the topsoil, and they will often grow bigger, which is an added bonus.

The other thing you need is a cooling system. While it might seem odd to have a cooling system in a greenhouse, it is possible for them to get so hot inside that all the plants will get cooked and die, especially in a hot summer. Again, the cooling system will be a series of underground pipes, allowing hot air to be taken down underground and stored during the day, and then released when it is cooler in the night.

While greenhouses might seem to be quite basic things altogether, though, there’s nothing stopping you from going all high-tech with them. More advanced systems have electronic climate control, allowing you to set the exact temperature of your greenhouse, and will open and close underground tubes and other escape routes for hot air in order to keep the temperature in your greenhouse tightly controlled. This can be useful for growing plants that only do well in one specific climate, such as some kinds of tropical flowers.

What You Need to Know Before Buying a Hearing Aid

You finally get up the nerve to go to the hearing aid office and get your ears tested. They break the news that you need a hearing aid. Your mind is swimming with visions of having to wear that huge thing on your ear. How could this have happened? Why me?! And then they start telling you about all of the different types you can get. All that terminology just goes right over your head. Don't they know your in shock! How on earth can you make a decision when you don't even know what they're talking about!

There are hundreds of different hearing aids. It can be a very complicated world of technological terms. Sometimes, those of us that work with hearing aids all the time can forget just how foreign they can sound to you. To make matters worse, the manufacturers like to call things different names, so they sound like something different. No wonder there's so much confusion!

I am going to try to unravel some of the mystery for you. When you get down to it, there are really only a few terms you need to understand.

There are seven primary styles of hearing aids: ITE, Half Shell, ITC, Mini Canal, CIC, BTE, and Open Ear.

In the Ear (ITE) ITE's are the largest custom style of hearing aid. They fill the bowl of your ear and can have the most power and features available.

Half Shell (HS) The Half Shell fills about half the bowl of your ear. They are able to have a good deal of power and features, use a smaller battery, but are more cosmetically appealing.

In the Canal (ITC) The next smallest size is the custom ITC. Harder to see than the larger hearing aids, but also not able to have as much power or as many features.

Mini Canal (MC) Smaller than the ITC hearing aid, the custom mini canal uses a smaller battery and has even less power available. Features can also be more limited.

Completely in the Canal (CIC) The CIC is the smallest custom in the ear hearing aid and very popular due to its cosmetic appeal and ease of use. There are usually no manual controls on a CIC, telephone usage is often better because they are less likely to whistle. Lack of power is the main reason people cannot use this style, though a small ear canal may keep you from being able to wear one also.

Behind the Ear (BTE) This hearing instrument sits behind your ear and is connected to your ear by a tube with an earmold. BTE hearing aids have the most power and features available.

Open Ear (OE) and Receiver in Canal (RIC) This hearing aid is a fairly new style of BTE made available in recent years and are much smaller then a traditional BTE. They are meant primarily for high frequency hearing loss. It is connected to your ear by a very thin tube or wire with a small earbud on the tip. They are called Open Ear because they leave the ear canal less blocked than other styles of hearing aid.

Important Features:

Directional Microphones - These are available on most BTE, OE, ITE, Half Shell, and ITC styles of hearing aids. They are the best feature you can have on your hearing aid for hearing in noisy places, such as restaurants. (They reduce sounds from behind, so that it does not interfere with the sound in front of you) Directional microphones can be automatic; they automatically turn on when the sound level in the room gets too loud. Some are also be adaptive, which means they can follow moving sounds, or reduce several different sounds at the same time.

Noise Reduction - Noise reduction doesn't really reduce noise, it reduces amplification in the frequencies where there is noise and no speech. If there is a fan running in the background, the hearing aid will not amplify it as much as it will speech. When the hearing aid finds both speech and noise at a frequency, you still get both. More advanced the hearing instruments manage noise better by breaking the frequencies up into smaller pieces.

Memories - There are two types of memories available on a hearing aid, manual and automatic. Many hearing aids have a push button that allows you to have different settings (memories) for different situations such as quiet places, noisy places, and music or telephone. The hearing aid beeps when you push the button to let you know which memory you are using. Advanced hearing aids can have memories that are automatic. Instead of pushing a button, the hearing aid does it for you! Some hearing aids can even have a combination of both.

Feedback Cancellation - Feedback (or that annoying whistling sound) is the number one complaint people have about hearing aids. Most hearing aid wearers experience feedback when they put their hand over their ear, or use the phone. Feedback Cancellation will take down the amount of feedback (whistling) that you hear.

Bands / Channels - Bands are what we use to adjust the volume in a hearing aid. More bands means more control when we program the hearing instrument to your hearing loss.

Channels are used to adjust the part of the hearing aid that keeps the sound from getting too loud. Channels can also refer to the hearing aid noise reduction system. For noise reduction, more channels is definitely better because the hearing aid can break the sound up into smaller pieces and isolate noise from speech.

These are the main things you need to understand about your hearing aid. If you really want the best one for you, I recommend you focus on telling your professional what benefits you want from your hearing instrument. Let them know what frustrates you to give them a better idea of how they can help you. Their goal is to help you hear better, and when that happens, everyone wins.

Hearing Aids

Do you know someone who has a hard time hearing what you say to them? Do you have to talk very loudly, almost screaming at them, and repeat what you say several times before they understand what you are trying to tell them? Maybe you have even started to write little notes back and forth to communicate with each other. If so, you know how frustrating that can be.

Where did hearing aids come from? The earliest aids were crude horns placed in the ear to amplify sound. When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, he was also working on a way to develop a hearing device. His work on the telephone did help to improve the progress he made on hearing amplifiers, but they were not portable. At that time he was using a carbon transmitter for both the electric telephone and hearing aid.

Then in the early part of the twentieth century, a precursor to the modern hearing aid was developed. It amplified sound through a wire placed in the ear. In the 1920s, the carbon transmitter was replaced by a vacuum tube. Though still not portable, it was an important improvement. The first portable hearing device was finally devised in the mid 1930s. It could be carried in your pocket and taken with you anywhere.

The invention of transistors in the 1950s allowed electric hearing aids to become smaller and much more efficient. The revolution had begun! The progress from those first crude horns, to today's tiny miracles has been tremendous. It did not happen over night, though, it was a long gradual process that included the work of many dedicated scientists, inventors and engineers working many long hours to assist those with this particular need. Their efforts contributed so much to the well being, attitude and happiness of so many in need.

Personal Injury

Personal Injury. Law suits for personal injury are filed by people injured by the irresponsible act of another. The injuries, either physical or emotional, can occur from different methods or varieties of conduct. The most frequent classes of harm include slip and falls, auto accidents, intentional attacks (assaults), physician or hospital malpractice, and product liability. Commonly, the goal of a personal injury claim is to ascertain responsibility and force the harming party to compensate the injured claimant for the damages substained. If you or a loved one has been injured by the careless actions of another, contact The Law Offices of Samuel W. Bearman in Pensacola, Florida, right away to learn how your rights are preserved and protected.

Damages. Personal injury attorneys help ensure their clients get the reimbursement to which they are entitled by law. Some of the things for which injured parties are lawfully due damages include lost wages, medical expenditures – past and future, money for both physical and emotional pain and suffering, and damages for physical disfigurement. On occasion, a close relatives of the injured person, such as his or her spouse, maybe eligible for damages, as well. These awards to relatives are often known as loss of consortium damages, which is meant to reimburse the family for the loss of the injured or deceased individual's services and companionship.

Other damages that may be granted, based on the state laws and regulations wherever the legal action is introduced and the details of the unique case, include enjoyment damages, which are granted to compensate the claimant for the deprivation of enjoyment of activities that she or he once took part in in but can no longer do so as a end result of the traumas suffered. Punitive damages may be granted for the defendant’s acts if they were especially egregious and it is decided that the defendant should be disciplined by having to pay an amount of money over the plaintiff’s specific damages. Punitive damage awards act to prevent others from partaking in comparable harmful conduct.

Legal Causation. Not each and every injured individual is entitled to damages for the personal injury he or she receives. Aside from the harm, the claimant will have to also prove, through convincing and appropriate facts, that the defendant is lawfully accountable for his or her injuries. The plaintiff is to provide evidence of causation both in terms of authentic causation and proximate (legal) causation. Actual causation is decided by actual cause and effect. Legal causation is proven by the the details and circumstances of the case.

In certain injury cases, legal causation might be proven if the claimant exhibits that the defendant acted deliberately. This means that the person purposely or actively harmed the plaintiff or recognized that his or her conduct produced a significant likelihood that damage would result.

Negligence and Strict Liability. There are additional injury claims which usually are dependent on a looser notion of fault called negligence. Under this principle, a person is held responsible for the outcomes of his action, or omission, when an ordinary person in the same situation should anticipate that the conduct would likely create an unreasonable threat of damage to others. Still other kinds of personal claims are established on stringent liability, a no-fault system under which liability can be founded irrespective of the flawed acts of the parties, including the wounded. Strict liability often is applicable in products liability cases, as when a company or vendor puts a substandard product or service into the hands of individuals who are then harmed by the product.

Defenses to Personal Injury Claims. In specific fact situations, another's conduct, while in question, may not necessarily be “actionable.” If, for example, the injured purposefully and willfully chose to encounter a recognized risk to safety, then he or she has assumed the possibility of injury and therefore the defendant is not held liable. The presumption of the risk theory may apply, for instance, in a engaged in a friendly sport of tackle football in which another participant broke his leg; in such a situation, the plaintiff most probably would be powerless to recover for his wounds due to the fact he recognized the dangers inherent in the activity and voluntarily chose to face them.

Possible defenses to personal injury suits consist of:

Statute of limitations. Statutes of limitations are laws and regulations establishing the time period within which the suit must commence.
Sovereign immunity. Sovereign immunity safeguards certain government authorities from civil legal responsibility for their official acts.
Intentional misuse. Injuries caused by a claimant's improper use of a product produces a defense to legal responsibility in a products liability situation
Contributory or comparative negligence. Contributory or comparative negligence is wherever the one’s own conduct triggered or contributed to his or her injuries

A personal injury lawyer can clarify these issues and decide whether they apply to a specific case.
Personal injury claims often demand a lawyer’s knowledge and evaluation of all the details and circumstances to ascertain the defendant's legal liability for injuries caused. A personal injury attorney at The Law Offices of Samuel W. Bearman in Pensacola, Florida will evaluate the specifics of your case and ascertain merit and validity of your claim, when you must act to safeguard your rights, the damages availble, and whether you may be eligible to initial financial benefits even before resolution or your claim. Furthermore, in many personal injury cases, you will owe absolutely no legal expenses until the accused pays the damage award.
